Norfolk Professional Building Services Management Team

Managing Director James Pitcher (Project Manager – All sites)

I started working in the construction industry when I left school in 1987. I first trained as a carpenter and joiner with a well known traditional North Norfolk building company serving a 4 year apprenticeship and achieving City and guilds in carpentry, advanced craft and site supervision. During this time I was lucky enough to work on a large conservation project of a famous 14th century oak framed building in North Norfolk. When the building industry experienced a downturn in the early 1990s I decided to return to college and study Civil engineering and Construction management. Following my studies I worked as a project and site manager on the following projects:
• North Norfolk district Council - Managing large scale housing improvement schemes.
• Sydney Borough Council, Australia - Managing housing improvement schemes.
• East Berlin, Germany - Managing housing developments.
• The new Norfolk and Norwich hospital - Managing £6m dry-lining package, including wards, operating theatres and X Ray.
• Projects division - Building a Tesco research and development center and large scale freezer warehouse
• South Norfolk District Council - Managing large-scale housing and district building upgrade projects.
• New build – Managing large scale new build properties.
• 2004 to 2011 Managing Norfolk Professional Building Services
